Private Die Playing Card Stamps

Private Die Playing Card Stamps were issued starting 1862. This stamp tax was repealed
on March 3, 1883 and took effect on July 1, 1883. These stamps tend to be somewhat
faulty, and prices are for stamps as illustrated with reasonably good face.

Sound copies in F-VF condition command a 50%-300% advance over catalog.
Price for stamps of less quality are disounted accordingly.
